Homesick by A Day to Remember
Homesick is the title of the third album recorded by post-hardcore band A Day to Remember. The album was released by the Florida group in February 2009. What makes this CD not only sensational for all ADTR fans but alternative rock listeners world-wide is the group's seamless integration of both metal, hardcore, and pop punk sounds into their music. The overwhelming gang-vocals of the opener "Downfall Of Us All" are guaranteed to have even the most avid metal deterrents turning their heads in interest. Songs like "Have Faith In Me" show the group's heavy influence of pop and acoustic beats while the drum-laden, fast-paced likes of "NJ Legion Iced Tea" and "I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?" bring the adrenaline and have audiences of every genre begging for more. In an era of cookie cutter alternative rock bands with skinny jeans and cheaply made t-shirts singing songs of petty pop romances, A Day To Remember stays true to the music they love and refuse to submit to the "status quo" of popular rock music. The key to their success is unquestionably their successful fusion of metal, punk, and power pop into a genre of music that can certainly stand on its own.
