Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son
For me to rent and watch Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son had several things going against it. The only thing it had going for it is my 12 year old wanted to see it based on a trailer he saw and he had not seen the previous ones.
Going against it was the fact that this being the third entry in the Big Momma franchise, movies are usually reaching at this point and should have quit while ahead. Martin Lawrence today is just not the same as old "Marty-Mart" from the TV show. There was an almost unknown cast. And sometimes the shock has just played out and to see any guy dressed up as a fat lady just ain't funny no more.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this one better than the second one. In fact I ended up seeing it 3 times over the weekend (we re-played it for visitors.) In my critical mind I could several things that would have made it even better but it was entertaining as is and my 12 year old now wants to go back and watch the first 2.
