Kurokami

Kurokami was one I would have preferred never to have seen. I found this 23-episode Japanese anime based on the Korean manga rather boring and ridiculous.

There were simply too many unexplained "miracles" in the story in order to be believable especially when it comes to how the main characters wins their fights. I mean sure I know that Keita Ibuki and Kuro are supposed the protagonists. So, of course they'll be the ones to win in the end. But I also hope that any increase in strength they have to be believable, even at least in the context of the anime. It is hard to have that when you have them being constantly defeated by everyone they meet and having to resort to their trump card in every one of these fights. So, how is it that same "superpower" works against a superior enemy and not against a weaker one.

The other complaint I have are the characters. They're just not compelling enough and whatever is spoken I simply do NOT feel any chemistry between the characters. Keita and Kuro often have conversations touching on the trust they have as partners but rather than moving I found these conversations to be irritating and boring. The same goes for Keita and Akane Sano's relationship. Up until the end, it still puzzles me no end as I simply couldn't picture them as being in love.
