Real life Slumdog Millionaire wins game show

Millions of people viewed the film “Slumdog Millionaire,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The film was about a poor man who wins a massive sum of cash on a game show. Interestingly enough, a young male has just won the leading prize in a comparable fashion on the same Indian game show portrayed in the film. Source of arti-cle: Slumdog Millionaire comes true for Sushil Kumar on game show

Movie inspired by man winning prize

Many have heard the old saw about “art imitating life,” but occasionally it also works the other way. There was a youthful Indian man that is beginning to be noticed. He appears to be precisely what the 2008 Danny Boyle film “Slumdog Millionaire” was talking about. The film is all about a poor Indian man. He goes on “Who Wants to Be a Million-aire” in India and wins the large prize.

The Telegraph reports that there was a contestant on the show, called “Kaun Banega Crorepati” in Hindi, who was just like the movie. ABC reports that 27 year old Sushil Kumar got 50 million rupees, about the same as $1 million, on the show after answering all questions correctly. He won the show changing his life. Before that, he was only getting $120 per month in his job.

Reason for signing up

According to ABC, neighbors confident Kumar to try to get on the show after they saw that he knew the answers to most of the questions when watching it with him earlier this year. In July, he took the audition exam and was notified on Oct. 16 that he would be appearing on a show, which aired on Saturday, Oct. 22. ”Kaun Banega Crorepati” is filmed in Mumbai. This is where he flew on his first ever flight. It was also his first visit to a large city.

Kumar plans to buy a larger house for his fami-ly and pay off his debts with the cash. He is also going to take the civil service exam, which means he will need cash to support himself during that time. Civil service jobs in India are among the best paying and most stable jobs accessible in the country, according to The Telegraph.

Usually movie is not the same

The even Kumar experienced was much like real life. Typically, a pleasant fiction isn't correct when it is based on real events.

As an ex-ample, the 1975 Notre Dame Football team protests their coach to allow a uniform to be worn by the title character in “Rudy” in the last game ever. As reported by USA Today, that never occurred. This was confirmed by Joe Montana who is a quar-terback for the Notre Dame team. The real world “Rudy” was given credit for being sacked like the movie showed and for working hard.

ESPN reports that Muhammad Ali was floored by Chuck Wepner. This was in a match that occurred in 1975 between the boxers. Ali knocked him out in the end. A comparable story was told in 1976. “Rocky” forgot to credit Wepner for what he did. Wepner sued Sylvester Stallone in 2003 for giving credit where it was due. An undisclosed amount was paid as a settlement.
