Thor Movie Review

Thor is about the Greek God of Thunder, also known a member of the Norse Gods. He carried a big giant hammer and Thursday’s are named after our awesome Thunder God (Get it Thor is for Thursdays). His three objects are his hammer which he fights his battles with, his belt of valor and boldness, and his gloves for when he uses his hammer hard, now that would pretty much be like most of the time.
The plot in the movie is similar to that of history as in most movies just told from a different perspective. The Gods and frost giants go to war and some stuff is taken from the frost giants, stuff like the hammer and a very important relic. The frost giants want it back so they break in the God’s palace while they have their “no mas war” party. Thor demands justice, another war with the frost giants, daddy goes nuts and bolts about his son beginning a war and cast his son out (sends him to earth). Now he must find his humanity and a way to get back his hammer.
This movie is full of action and it does have some hilarious moments like when Thor is drinking at a coffee shop and when he gets good old “dad” drunk, “we drank, we fought, he made his ancestors proud”. Other than the perk of funny moments it speaks volumes if you are looking for a movie that doesn’t gore you out completely, this is a good movie. It’s good to watch if you are studying Greek mythology and are bored of it. Another perk of this movie is that it has some amazing actors and actresses in it. Anthony Hopkins is an amazing actor, from Amistad in 1997 to this movie. Natalie Portman did an amazing job to although it can be said she has had better roles in other movies like V for Vendetta. Last and not least the man with the hammer Chris Hemsworth, he plays the Hammer man and does a pretty good job of it.
Go watch a good history movie Thor, and while you’re at it sit back, eat your popcorn and enjoy some laughs.
