The one organ thatsets a man apart from all rest of creation is the human brain. The brain is the sources of all our motives and ideas.Without its wonderful power of direction we are useless.A man might have superb physical body, perfect in every respect, but unless he has a mind capable of governing his actions he has nothing.
our emotions are with us all the time.We are never entirely free from them, not even in our sleep. When things are going well,we experience such joyful emotions as smiling, laughing, relaxation and contentment.A somewhat different picture is presented when a person is angry.
Mood disorders are alarmly common.A of people worldwide suffer from serious depression, a condition characterized by overwhelming sadness and loss of pleasure in everyday activities.
Anger is an emotional state that varies in intensity from mood irritation to intense fury and rage.Like other emotions, it is accompanied by physiocological and biological changes.
Feeling angry from time to time medical experts says it is normal. Some people express anger redily while others fume about a situation. When anger is experienced in relation to a specific event then it is usually not a health risk.
However if the anger surfaces too readsily and lasts too long and is surpassed and not expressed then it may become a cardiovascular risk factor.
When one is angry what you see is merely the outside appearance.Inside the body many other things are going on.His blood pressure rises. His heart beats more rapidly.Large reserves of blood are poured out into the the circulation to provide fresh power to need of the movement.Hardening of the arteries may occur which may result in not getting enough blood through those narrowed vessels to meet the need of his heart during this time of emergency. This could to heart attacks for the simple reasons that the blood clots more rapidly during the process of stress.
Emotional stress stir up a storm of impulses that place the whole nerves system under heavy pressure.Certain organs react too much while others not enough.Electrical impulses from the brain cause the out pouring of too much acid from the stomach. This may result to stomach ulcer. The heart beats furiously although it is not in any way diseased.Tiny muscles in blood pressure and vessels walls tighten down, raising the level of blood pressure and increasing the work of the heart and other organs.Inspite of this widespread reactions, the fault is not in our nerves but in ourselves.
Researches found out that healthy people are prone to anger, hostility, and depression have higher levels of a substance linked to the narrowing of the arteries and future heart disease risk called C-reactve protien(CRP).The protein is released in the body in response to the inflammation caused by the stress, infections and other treats to the immune system.
According to medical experts, people who have high level of anger, irritability, cynicism and aggression are at higher risk of developing heart disease.A heart attack is almost three times more likely in people with high levels of anger, irritability, cynicism and aggression.
The association among depression, heart diseases, and heart attacks has been established for some time.Depression is reported to preceed a heart attack in up to fifty percent of cases.
Apart from the link between depression and heart disease, depression also contributes to poor lifestyle. Depressed people are likely to eat poorly,be sedentary, smoke and drink too much alcohol.
The answer to what causes anger is not clear.Anger can be caused by both external and internal events. While in some cases there seem to be genetic links in most instances life experience appear to paly an important role.It has also been noted that it is diagnosed in twice as manywomen as men.But this does not mean that men are unaffected on the contrary, it is estimated that between five and twelve of men will become depressed at some point of life.
Recent report shows that having a short fuse may shorten the part to heart diseases in men with prehypertension,(blood pressure above normal but less than the high blood pressure range)
The reseachers reason that those men may do their heart a favour by learning to tame their chronic anger.
On the other men who are chronically angry with prehypertension were moderately more likely to develop high blood pressure and heart like long term psychological.
