Whip It

Whip It is an intimate view of the emotional and often comical struggle that a teenager faces when confronting the expectations that parents hold for them. Desperate to experience a life outside of her own small home town, Bliss Cavendar sneaks into the underground world of roller derby. Roller derby turns out to be the hobby she never really had, and a timely escape from the dull existence in Bodeen, Texas. What results is a comic peek into the forgotten sport of roller derby. Bliss soon finds herself in over her head, and fast approaching a day when her secret life will no longer be secret. Check out Whip It and enjoy it before I give away too much of the plot.
