The Young Hemingway
This book was extremely enlightening to me in all aspects of Hemingway's personal life, his wife Hadley's life, his family, and some secrets behind his writing. Reading this biography was almost like reading fiction, because of the interesting life that Hemingway led. I recommend this book to anyone with a Hemingway obsession. I learned the dirty secrets and lies behind so much of who he portrayed himself to be. This book really opened my eyes. I had never read a biography front to back until now and I'm glad that I did. Reynolds is such an excellent writer and it is such an amazement how much information he was able to attain. Reading letters between family and friends of Hemingway added the feeling of a real person behind all of this. Reynolds knows more about this subject than any other literary professional that I have ever heard. The details are impeccable and unquestionable.
